About The Black Lion

In The Heart of llanrhystud

Family-Run Village Pub and Restaurant

With a history dating back to 1836, The Black Lion in Llanrhystud has been a central part of the village for nearly two centuries. A meeting place for locals as well as the perfect place for tourists to stop off on Wales’ Coastal Path.

Taken on by the landlord, Ray, in 2009, before purchasing it in 2020, The Black Lion has been described as a hidden gem on Wales’ beautiful west coastline. Managed by Ray along with his wife Bev, and a team of dedicated friends and staff, the village pub and restaurant is a favourite with the Llanrhystud residents and visitors.

Locally-Sourced, Home-Cooked Food

Lucky to be located by the beautiful Welsh countryside, it is only right that we offer our patrons a taste of the best, locally sourced produce. That is why, where possible, we always try our best to create our seasonal menus with the highest-quality local meats and products sourced directly from local farms.

These ingredients are then masterfully handled by our team of chefs who create exquisite meals that taste like home. All completed in our 5-star hygiene-rated kitchen, we welcome you to come join us for a taste of hearty traditional pub classics.
